Personally, I think it was the sneering, condescending disregard the zealots had for the concerns of the average citizen cost them the election. They forgot what the president of the United States is supposed to be - a public servant who must answer to the American people.
>learning how to not hate each other.
I think this is THE most important bit because right now, there's two major wars going on and we're teetering towards open nuclear war if they're not stopped. There is no other planet we know that can support life like Earth, and I'd rather not see it all get blasted into an unlivable hell over hate-driven wars that should have never happened in the first place.
It's a long road after what happened, but I want to believe in the human race.
Take care.

Its definitely complicated at best. Recent global conflicts brought out the worst in everyone and there were a good number of people on the left who acted no better than those on the right.
I mean hell. Trump is no normal Republican BUT when people are acting like complete narcissists and wanting to tear everyone apart over some of the most menial shit you kind of have to take a step back and ask yourself if anyone even deserved Kamala to begin with.
Not that the majority of Kamala voters knew that ahead of time as opposed to looking at other factors that are also relative to the conversation, such as Biden's stubbornness to not allow someone else to run far earlier and run for a second term with his failing health, specific failures of the Biden administration with the withdrawal from Afghanistan and the Student Loan Crisis being handled poorly, and not to mention his lack of any meaningful stance in the Isreal-Palestine conflict.
In my honest opinion? America deserves Trump. Not because he's the president that everyone wanted, rather it's because he reflects the current attitudes and behaviors of all demographics in how we go at each other when it comes to specific socio-cultural and political issues that are still a problem, and all the democratic politicians did was merely delay what would have been inevitable.
