Seeking feedback

So.... I've been wanting to make this post because a part of me has been using the Newgrounds supporter feature in regards to what I've been doing for collabs and what I've been up to as of late.

The problem is, and maybe this is because I've found it more difficult to keep track of when I do updates in full detail due to everything that has been going on as of late and haven't really been able to do a bi-weekly update on the mark and I kind of realize that, unless it relates to a specific project or just a dry summary of some of the things I've done over the course of the few weeks, I'm realizing that's not doing a whole lot when interacting with people on here.

I think I've hit a point where I've gained enough followers to ask something like this and try to get some more engagement so I'd like to hear from you guys.

  • Is there anything I can do moving forward that some people would like to see?
  • Are there areas where I can improve on concerning how I go about the blogs, user page, or potential work with commissions?
  • Any concerns with me in general?

This may come off as odd on my end to ask these types of things, especially at my age where it might seem like I'm coming off as a little insecure. Especially given that I've been more active as of late for the past five years since 2019 up until now compared to the early 2010's where I only had a very few moments on here just to play a few games, upload only one thing and college ended up being my focus up until the end of that decade.

I still intend to make as much artwork as I can, that isn't going to change anytime soon. However as the year is drawing into a close and where I'd like to kind of move forward I realize that there are things I could potentially improve on that I might not be seeing in particular with my own eyes because for me I'd like to start shifting into a new direction with my work and what I can do.

If any of you guys have an honest opinion and are willing to be direct, I'd love to hear them! Because as much as I have experimented with a few different things here and there I'd like to find ways to innovate my time on here.

From looking at your gallery your pixel art is pretty good, but looking at your gallery, your art could use a little more effects and detail. My suggestion is pay attention to overlap (where surfaces crease) and maybe play with the lighting a little bit. Here's some stuff to help you: https://pin.it/1u4T39J8O

Yeah tangents have been a thing that, I'll admit even I struggle with but all these references revolving around different ambiances for mood, lighting, and even contrast will actually help me a ton.

I appreciate you sending these my way and I'll surely be looking at them as I move forward.

@DioShiba Here's a little art hack: To shade or light a surface, shift your base color on your color wheel to something warmer or cooler, then shift it to something darker or lighter depending on if you're shading or lighting something.

Just because there is room for improvement doesn't mean your art is bad, It's good, It's all matter of how much the artist wants improvement, only you can say how much quality is enough. For my standarts its perfect
