Tracing is only about as good in how you execute it. Frankly this is just not one of those pieces where it was executed well since you are going off another artist’s work.

And that’s the problem. Aku may have not been originally drawn in the source material you used and that’s the only saving grace from me giving this a zero but ultimately the explanation doesn’t justify the method and could fall into plagiarism, regardless if you want to hear it or not that is the truth of the matter.

EDIT: And before you respond, take into consideration that a lot of what you are saying sounds like an excuse to ignore any sense of feedback and rubbing it off as mere judgement. Several artists on here take the time and effort to at least make their work instead of taking the shortcuts you have made and disregarding that says more about you than anyone else here despite what your words are on the surface.

Edit 2: No weed, just the truth. Oh… and dont forget the internet archives exist ;)

ZombieGhost responds:

What kind of weed you smoke? You must be really high on something to complain about my drawing skills.

Merry Christmas!

fe3l1ngsk1lledd responds:

Thank you, merry Christmas as well! :]

It's pretty good, a few jaggies here and there but it's not bad.

Although I'm not sure if the transparency on his head works in favor with the BG? I feel like the line work goes off on a few tangents to the point where it is a little distracting. But it's not bad pixel art at all.

Olexxie responds:

In the original games, he is transparent

You handled this scene pretty well...

The only downside is that Link doesn't have pink hair. That would have been a nice touch.

omegachainoboy responds:

yeah, i was thinking that lol

That'll do it!

bisteca2007 responds:

Thanks

Okay make more work.

You definitely know what the fuck you're doing here with your craft objectively and if you have one more piece to upload I would love to see you get scouted.

HampterHAM-HAm44 responds:

Thank you, i will draw more.

Perspective seems to be the issue with this piece with the background. HOWEVER that aside I like what you're doing with both Legoshi and Haru.

It's been awhile since I've seen Beastars to be fruitfully honest. What I do think however is that you could really craft your style into something that I think can be really awesome overall if you put the time into improving your weaknesses and make them your strengths somehow.

Sanzokudebien responds:

While I do appreciate and enjoy constructive criticism, I'm sorry to say that I am just the idea man and writer for this one, my art skills aren't nearly as developed as this, however if you'd like to give the artist some pointers you can find one of her links in the caption.

You have something in your style that I like because you got a good sense of color theory and there's that nice early 2000's punk aesthetic that really works well here.

Looking at all of your pieces, I think one of the things that you may want to consider moving forward is to develop your craft away from the bean style (Or the cal-arts trend) with some of your characters and use what works with your visual style into your own voice so to say.

THAT STATED, I'm scouting you because I'm interested in seeing how you develop.

KittyFizzy7 responds:

Thank you, I appreciate the feedback :)

To be honest compared to your pixel art pieces I think you have more strength in your digital work, especially in the abstract realm.

I'm not going to stop you from doing pixel art obviously, but from you I think I'd rather see more content like this because you have something here that I'm wondering what you could really pull off if you were willing to experiment more.

WolfaYT responds:

Thanks for the reply, I love doing pixel art and this abstract one was just a test. But thanks :D

Honestly, this is probably one of the better works you have. In fact, I like it a lot.

You have something there with your talent so I what I am thinking is what your artwork would look like five to ten years from now. That said, I would encourage you to keep drawing and honing your skills to the next level of mastery. It may mean you'll have to learn fundamental stuff in depth but truth be told that no one makes a masterpiece right away.

I won't tell you it's easy because you're going to have to learn how to take feedback and criticism while detaching yourself from the work you make, I can tell you I had to learn the hard way when I started making art more seriously almost a little more than ten years ago. In truth, I actually sucked at making art in 2010 and that was my junior year of high school.

I think you'll actually improve a ton if you keep at it, as long as you're willing to learn. I just wish that I discovered you under better circumstances.

SeanyDS responds:

Wow i was not expecting that. However thanks for the feedback. I will take it to account. Im always willing to learn, after all, you can't make a masterpiece by being obivious and sensitive.

All opinions are my own and reflect no one else. Don't steal my work. Some content posted on this page isn't for everyone don't complain if you haven't disabled M or A ratings. I'm not your babysitter nor am I beneath being a jerk when necessary.
